Sonic Rifle Notes:

(from RG p26)
The sonic rifle can fire with variable beam settings. It
uses the same rules as shotguns (p. 180, SR5) for determining
the number of targets affected and the DV modifier, as well as
ranges. The Exotic Ranged Weapon (Sonic Rifle) skill is used to
fire this weapon.
The Damage Resistance Test uses Willpower instead of Body
and ignores all standard armor. Damper earware (p. 454, SR5)
provides +2 bonus dice to the resistance test. A Hush or Silence
spell reduces the DV by –1 per hit on the Spellcasting Test.
Targets hit by a beam suffer the effects of disorientation and
nausea (see p. 409, SR5). The rifle uses peak discharge battery
packs, with each shot consuming 1 power unit.

Bio:

401k got these with the Mack truck, and he laughed at the puny guns on these things, so he decided to beef things up a bit.

Actual Text:

(from R5 p130)

The venerable Sentry rail-drone system has some three
decades of experience behind it. Hanging from a railing,
the Sentry can traverse an entire facility via small
“doggie doors” high on the walls, giving them complete
access to areas without compromising security.
The Sentry both draws power and accepts commands
via the rail system, leaving it impervious to wireless hijacking
and, due to being kept on a secondary, dedicated
power supply, functional even when the rest of
the facility is blacked out. In the mid-’60s, enterprising
Ares executives decided to take advantage of the rail
system by creating the Mercury, an unarmed courier
that would allow messages or packages to be shuttled
around the office with greater reliability and safety. As
the Sentry was nigh-ubiquitous, the Mercury is now
found in over ninety percent of Ares facilities, serving
as a mobile mailbox. In the event of an active hostile
situation, Mercuries store themselves out of the way,
leaving the rails clear for Sentry deployment.
